Born to Doris Rich and Eddie Chervis Cashwell, April 5, 1938 in Sampson County; ML was raised with a dedication to hard work and determination.

Master Levi Nelson, infant, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Wake Med in Raleigh, NC. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Hope Valley Hawkins. His memory is left to cherish by, his special friend of many years, Sheverlon Powell. Three sisters, Alice F. McKoy of Philadelphia, PA, and Deborah and Arlene McKoy of the home. Two aunts, Willnetta Hammonds of Philadelphia, PA, and Zula McKoy of Collins, MS. A favorite cousin, Dianne Badger of Elizabethtown, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In the coming months, Almost Home will launch a capital campaign to drum up the funds needed to construct and operate the dog adoption center. If built, it would be the first dog-only adoption center in Lancaster County. Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats is a registered 501c3 nonprofit rescue and adoption center located in Westminster, Colorado.

If constructed, the center would be able to house 56 dogs. Each dog will be assessed for behavior, temperament and medical issues before being accepted and put up for adoption. The organization exists for the purpose of enriching a dogs life by creating a temporary caring environment while pursuing and facilitating Adoption to loving homes. Likewise, they need loving and patient families to help them adjust to a new life.
